H-DD engineering: the calculation program for Horizontal Directional Drilling
One program to design, check and document a trenchless crossing: from the bore profile to the site report. It runs completely offline, on Android and on Windows.
7-day free trial, one per device. No credit card.

The calculation the job runs on
Bore profile, cover, hydrofracture, mud and hydraulics, reaming, drill string and pipe pullback: the checks that decide whether a crossing succeeds, in a single tool.

The drawings it produces
Every module produces its own drawing, generated from the data entered and redrawn on every change.

Longitudinal profile
The bore axis with rod numbering, the ground line interpolated from the surveyed points, the reamed hole and the minimum-cover line. Stations that fall below the allowed cover are marked on the drawing, not buried in a table.

Hydrofracture
The in-hole pressure against the maximum the ground will take, station by station, following the Delft 1988 model. Below it, the depth profile aligned to the same chainage.

Pullback force
The force at the clamp along the whole pull, with the two thresholds that actually matter on site: what the pipe can take and what the rig can deliver.
Every drawing exports to SVG and feeds the site report. They are design drawings, not as-built surveys — the program prints that on each of them.
A locked feature shows nothing
Never a simplified model, never a truncated number, never a stale value left greyed out. If a calculation did not run you can see it — because a figure that looks like a result but is not one is how someone hits a gas main.
Everything happens on the device: no project data leaves the computer or the phone, and the program behaves identically on a site with no signal.

Pipeline check during pullback: one of the analyses behind the numbers the program returns.
Subscriptions
Three levels, each with monthly or annual renewal. You choose by how far the calculation has to go.

With no active subscription the program stays read-only: saved projects still open and the inputs already typed stay readable, but nothing computes. It is the state an expired trial, a lapsed subscription and a first run all fall back to.
Company licences. For contractors we issue an offline licence bound to the device, monthly or annual, with renewal counted from the previous expiry: renewing early never means paying twice for the same days. Write to us for a multi-seat licence.
Download H-DD engineering
Two versions, the same calculations: the Android app for the site and the Windows program for the office. The installation files will be published here shortly.
Requirements
- Android 8.0 or later, .apk file
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- PC version available as an installer and as a portable build that also runs from a USB stick
- No internet connection required, neither to run nor for the licence
Before you install
- Every package is published with its own SHA-256 fingerprint: check it before opening the file
- On first launch Windows may show the SmartScreen warning: the program has no code-signing certificate, and the fingerprint is the check that replaces it
- On Android, installation from an unknown source must be allowed
- At first opening you accept the legal notice and register: those details are the ones we use for the licence and the invoice
- Results are engineering estimates based on the data entered: they are a design aid, and they do not replace the site geotechnical investigation or the responsible engineer
Need a company licence or a demonstration?
We will show you the program on one of your own crossings and prepare the licence for as many seats as you need, for the period you prefer.
